The Franz Karl company produces this pyramid nativity house, sanded and natural, with loving handwork and an eye for detail.

Pyramids are a must in many households at Christmas time, the candlelight creates a cozy and comfortable atmosphere to linger in.

This Christmas pyramid shows the birth of Christ in a detailed depiction made of natural wood with a sanded surface. It is designed in the shape of a small house that symbolizes the stable of Bethlehem and the elongated roof is reminiscent of a traditional nativity scene. Inside are Mary and Joseph, standing watchful next to the manger in which the baby Jesus lies. The child rests peacefully in the middle and is surrounded by figures with carefully colored accents that breathe life into the scene.

The Three Wise Men are also included in this depiction and present their gifts to the newborn. Each king holds a gift in his hands and stands respectfully in front of the manger. On the left of the scene, a shepherd calmly leads his sheep past the stable, which gives the scene an additional, lively dynamic.

The entire ensemble is arranged on a rectangular wooden base. On both sides of the stable there are delicately crafted chip trees that atmospherically round off the motif and harmoniously frame the scenery. The trees are reminiscent of a snowy landscape and give the pyramid a traditional charm.

At the top there is a propeller with simple wooden blades. By placing pyramid candles in the holders provided on the base, the propeller is set in motion by the rising warm air. This slow rotation brings the scene to life and gives the pyramid a meditative, festive atmosphere. The colors of the figures and the natural wood look of the pyramid create a harmonious, warm aura and make the pyramid appear particularly elegant.

What happens when you “sandle”?

When you sandle, craftsmen subject wood to a special surface treatment. They treat it carefully with an open flame or glowing air, which changes the surface. The heat creates a darker layer that gives the wood a rustic and naturally aged look.

Craftsmen often use this technique for decorative objects and traditional handicrafts. Sandle is particularly popular for pyramids or smokers from the Ore Mountains. It gives these pieces a unique, warm character.

When sandle, the heat is used in a very controlled way so that the wood does not burn or char. Only the outer layer of wood is gently heated so that the structure remains undamaged. This slight heating creates a beautiful, gentle browning that makes the wood look classy.

The natural grain of the wood is particularly well-emphasized by sanding. At the same time, the surface remains smooth and soft to the touch. The natural character of the wood is preserved through the treatment.

Many people appreciate sanded wood for its authentic, high-quality appearance. This gives it a special depth and elegance. Especially in traditional wood art, sanding achieves a timeless charm without the need for paints or varnishes.
