This candle arch Seiffener Kirche with carolers, Hiemann is another beautiful arch from the Klaus Kolbe factory, lovingly handcrafted and with an eye for detail.

For many years, candle arches have adorned windows at Christmas time and conjure up a cozy and contemplative light that invites you to linger.

The candle arch shown exudes a Christmas atmosphere with its detailed design. Seven electric candles sit on the arch and spread warm light. The delicate wooden structure shows a harmonious beam structure that is decorated with lovingly crafted figures.

In the center of the candle arch stands a snow-covered church, surrounded by an idyllic winter landscape. A choir of carolers gathers in front of the church wearing festive robes. Miners in splendid uniforms adorn the beam structure.

On the side of the arch you can see scenes of skilled craftsmanship. One figure is working on a wood saw while another is loading coal carts. Angels and miners, as traditional light figures, frame the motif and set radiant accents.

The miners’ band brings a musical mood to the arrangement with their instruments. Sparkling ore and fine details in the figures emphasize the connection to the mining tradition. Other small scenes tell of life and work in the snowy mountains.

The delicate colors and precise craftsmanship give the candle arch a unique charisma. With its impressive wealth of detail, this arch invites you to pause and be touched by the magic of the Christmas season.

A very special candle arch that bathes the Christmas season in contemplative and devout light.

The candle arch tells the fascinating story of the handicraft of wood art in the Ore Mountains, which is inextricably linked to the work and life of the miners. It all began with the mining of the sparkling ore that shaped the region and brought prosperity. But when the ore deposits were exhausted, people looked for new sources of income, and so the art of woodcraft developed.

The figures of the angel and the miner, symbolic of light and hope, became the central motifs of Erzgebirge craftsmanship. These two light figures, traditionally made by the miners’ families, carried the heritage and importance of mining out into the world. They also represent the transition from hard work underground to delicate craftsmanship above ground.

A turning point in history was the legendary Mr. Hiemann. With a handcart full of hand-made works, he went to the Leipzig trade fair to present the products of the Erzgebirge. His journey symbolized the beginning of the economic success of Erzgebirge wood art. Thanks to his courage and his hope for good sales, wood art gained national recognition and became a flagship for the region.

Today, the Erzgebirge is considered the cradle of wood art, with world-famous figures, candle arches, nutcrackers and smokers. The story that the candle arch tells reminds us not only of the origins, but also of the unshakable creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the people of the Ore Mountains.
