THE STUDIO ALBUM FOR THE STADIUM CONCERT

When, just before Christmas, over 25,000 people flock to the stadium for the big Advent concert and hundreds of thousands of TV viewers take their seats in the living room, then Christmas really begins for many Dresdeners. What began in 2015 as part of the celebrations for the anniversary of the world-famous Dresden Kreuzchor has meanwhile become one of the largest and most beautiful Christmas events in Germany: flanked by stars from the international music world, one of the best boys’ choirs in the world presents the most famous Christmas melodies in both classic and modern arrangements.

Just in time for Christmas 2020, the first studio album is finally available.

The album captures the unique atmosphere of this special event on a double CD and brings it into the living room.
At the center is the eight centuries old Dresden Kreuzchor under the direction of Roderich Kreile. He is accompanied by the specially founded Cross Bell Orchestra: renowned band and studio musicians from all over Germany who, under the direction of Peter Christian Feigel, are the perfect musical partners of the Kruzians for the studio album. Sensitively and with great joy in playing and singing, they bring the demanding arrangements of the Christmas classics to life. In addition to old friends from the Advent Concert, the album also features new musical partners from the Kreuzchor: In a duet with the choir, rock legend Peter Maffay enchants with his Tabaluga hit “Nessaja – I never wanted to be grown up”, while the Finnish star soprano Camilla Nylund with the Crucians brings the atmosphere of the Scandinavian Christmas festival to Germany. At home on all stages of the world and with “O holy Night” and “Adeste fidelis” also a guest on the album is tenor Klaus Florian Vogt. Sabrina Weckerlin sets musical and soul accents, adding another facet to the special genre mix. The same applies to the Finnish trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth and her very own Christmas sound. The Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke, read by Samuel Koch, rounds off the new studio album.

A STAR THAT LIGHTS INTO THE HEART

It is the Christmas story to which the Moravian Star owes its paramount importance – after all, in many countries around the world it is a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem. Thanks to its deep sense of purpose, but also its simple elegance, its lights inspire people. Experiencing the Christmas season with a Moravian star has a long tradition and is closely linked to the history of the Moravian Brothers Unity. The stars in Herrnhut have been traditionally handcrafted for over 160 years.

The Moravian gift set “The Great Advent Concert” includes:

  • Double CD for the stadium concert
  • 1 small star A1e, 13cm in white, with lighting and matching power supply

Give away Christmas joy!

Environmental damage caused by incorrect disposal of batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally obliged to return old batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can hand in old batteries at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obliged to take back old batteries, although our obligation to take back is limited to old batteries of the type that we have or have had in our range as new batteries.
