The “Tradition Wichtel” (Traditional Gnome) incense smoker in green combines the finest craftsmanship of the Erzgebirge region with a heartwarming charm, bringing a cozy Christmas atmosphere into any home.
The gnome’s body is lathe-turned into a conical shape and finished with a rich, deep green glaze that beautifully allows the natural grain of the wood to show through. Crowning this is a distinctive, tapered pointed cap in a vibrant red—a lively splash of color that immediately catches the eye. The friendly face—featuring a round, bulbous red nose and small, alert eyes—instantly radiates warmth and coziness. A lush, full beard in a warm natural wood tone generously frames the face, lending the gnome his own unique and unmistakable character.
A small, curved pipe made of natural wood hangs from the gnome’s mouth, providing a charming finishing touch to his expressive face. As soon as an incense cone is lit inside the figure, fragrant smoke rises directly from the gnome’s mouth, filling the room with a delicate, festive Christmas scent. In this way, the “Tradition Wichtel” impressively blends traditional craftsmanship with a delightful sensory experience.
The gnome’s spherical hands, crafted from light-colored natural wood, are flexibly attached to his body, giving the figure a lively and welcoming posture. Together with the delightful interplay of deep green, vibrant red, and warm natural wood tones, the result is a harmonious overall aesthetic that captivates at first glance.
Skilled artisans at the *Seiffener Volkskunst eG* craft this incense smoker entirely by hand in the traditional manner of the Erzgebirge region, thereby preserving and passing on a piece of regional folk art destined to endure for generations. Whether placed as a decoration on the mantelpiece, the Christmas table, or a shelf, this traditional green gnome creates a warm and atmospheric focal point—becoming, year after year, a cherished companion throughout the Advent season.
