This special figure was created from local beech in close collaboration with the MDR. Their characteristic white fur on their head and arms creates an attractive contrast to their dark body. Even the two red shoes each have a white pompom, emphasizing his playful nature.
In order to preserve the radiant face of Pittiplatsch and at the same time ensure the functionality of a nutcracker, an innovative solution was found: A hardwood thread operated via the rotating head cracks the nuts easily in the opening hidden in the back. This clever mechanic allows Pittiplatsch to crack nuts in a playful yet effective way without compromising its distinctive appearance.
The production is carried out with the utmost precision and care. The beech is first given a black glaze and then polished so that it develops an endless, satin shine. This not only gives Pittiplatsch an elegant look, but also a pleasant feel that underlines its high-quality workmanship.
