Toy makers and turnery crafts have been established in the Erzgebirge for many generations. So also with Gottfried Hübsch. The fascination was to transform wood into toys or figures, since childhood. Through the family, the career choice was easy and also a vocation. The craft wood art was present in generation. First the apprenticeship, then the master craftsman examination and later (1978) takeover of the paternal craft business. It is a passion of wood to create individual treasures and to revive them with colors and accessories – so pretty.

In 1990, the product range was adapted to the market situation and comprehensively profiled. The inspiration is taken from museum treasures and paired with profound practical knowledge. This gives the basis of working at Hübsch.

In the workshop of Gottfried Hübsch filigree pyramids and figures are created in small series or as individual uniques. Every product at Hübsch is exceptionally detailed and very sensitively crafted.

The tradition should be preserved and made attractive and interesting for the young coming generation.
