Christian Ulbricht GmbH

Christian Ulbricht GmbH was founded by a family of Bergleuten. When the ore was running out, new business ideas had to be created. So they became Schnitzer and Drechsler.

“Otto Ulbricht workshops for fine woodwork and toys” was founded in 1928 by Christian’s father. At the Paris World Exposition of 1936, he won a gold medal for his designs of nursery clocks and a Kurrende group.

After the Second World War, the expropriation by the Communist rulers and Otto Ulbricht had to flee with his family to the West. He founded his company in Lauingen an der Donau.

In 1968 his son Christian took over the company and after the reunion also bought back the father’s company in Seiffen.

The family and the employees continue to produce the traditional wooden art with a lot of love for detail and passion.
